Until She Comes
Nicholas Ilechie / / 2 min read

I look inward and see so much love within
wrapped, nurtured, and protected,
waiting for the one who deserves it.
Some call her the lady of dreams,
but I’ll call her my better half.
For the lady of dreams has no face,
though I know her spirit,
her warmth, her purity of heart.
Yet everyone desires such
none wish for evil,
and still, evil finds its way among us,
like Satan standing among the sons of God.
She—this mystery yet to be revealed
is the one who will complement me,
who will see my depth and know my heart,
not for selfish desire,
but for the genuineness born of love.
She protects and nurtures.
In her arms, my soul will rest.
On her breast, my head will find comfort.
Her loving gaze will calm my storms,
her gentle touch melt my walls,
her voice—soothing,
like melodies of nature’s bliss.
Ah, YHWH…
When shall the son of man find what he seeks?
When shall my weary soul find peace divine?
Yet I shall rejoice and be glad,
for I know my God.
I will wait on Him
His timing is perfect.
I will keep my heart aligned,
for He directs my path.
My God will not forsake me,
nor let me fall prey to the deceiver.
For many are deceived, beguiled,
stripped of greatness, left in ruin
and even they, in their schemes,
find no joy.
But the one who delights in the Lord
will remain forever blessed.
