Joy called me a cheater.
She said she ain’t coming back.
Sad. Pain was becoming too friendly.
Never argued with ‘being broke’.
That nigga couldn’t fit my shoes even if he tried.
She never was mine.
Nor did I fool myself thinking she was.
But we had our time.
The ride? Worth it.
Gave her the cross—she couldn’t carry.
Gave her my shoulder—wasn’t enough.
Dragged me to the pit—I followed.
Left me to rot in mud.
While I gave her my back to walk on.
Hypocrites. Liars. Demons, all dressed in white.
Condemning, judging others who do less harm than they.
Hollow hearts, empty lives,
Ever seeking validation to fill their own voids.
Scared to look in the mirror
Afraid of the reflection staring back.
I stared into the mist.
Behold—a silhouette of happiness,
Running as if chased.
I stopped. I watched.
Then I asked myself: who’s chasing?
You crave love,
But won't give it—not even to yourself.
Endless longing. Endless cycles.
Questioning pain.
Too scared to face your own reflection.
Yes, she lied.
But the joke’s on you.
Foolish enough to let ego blind you
To the truth in front of your eyes.
Now you cry over spilled milk.
You saw it all.
But fear held you hostage.
You refused to accept it.
You chose delusion.
Cloaked reality in a bubble.
“It’s safer this way,” you said.
Can’t stand the hurt? You decide.
Now the seeds have sprouted.
But you deny the harvest.
Time laughs. Life moves.
And when you finally look,
When the mist clears,
You'll see:
The pain, the betrayal, the lies
They were lessons you refused to learn.
The hurt?
Not punishment.
Not accident.
Necessary.
Refining.
