Seeking Advice

Be careful who you take advice from

Age is not always valid for wisdom

Seek advice only from people you admire and those living the life you aim to achieve.

Your parents may not necessarily give you the best advice in life, of course, they love you and want what’s good for you but man’s definition of good and evil is flawed due to our imperfections and inability to control such power.

If you admire the life your parents live and aim to achieve that life then by all means listen to them and harken to their advice.

But if you detest such a life and aim to live a different life then find another parent. If the life of your parents doesn’t appear to be good by standards of nature and or the scriptures then by all means seek to get a new father and one who is living an exemplary life in Christ (it should be visible and perceivable) and make him your goto father for advice(*don’t need to be a pastor, not all pastors or preachers live the life of Christ)

On the other hand we as a youth like to get advice from friends and in like manners, a friend may love you and you vis-a-vis but you both may not live a similar lifestyle and aim for the same goals.

Hence as much as you both love one another, maintain your friendship but do not depend on your best friend for advice as their advice will often be streamlined to their life choices and path which often may be different from yours.

Rather seek advice from a good and selfless person, a wise person.

And alas if you can’t find anyone to get advice from then seek the Scriptures of Christ and find your problems in one of the teachings of Christ and also seek the solutions Christ gave in like manner… fact is all problems were solved by him in his teachings and the teachings after him…

But man always likes to fight with the truth. a puzzle even God finds hard to solve.

Man is created to depend on one another and for such reason, we are all expected to seek advice on certain matters that arise in course of our lives only a fool doesn’t seek advice and thinks he/she knows it all.

Often our choices are limited by our emotions and an outside thinker often brings clarity and peace.

And be truthful to your advisor cause he can only advise as much of the truth as he knows.
