Oblivion
Nicholas Ilechie / / 1 min read

Solemn heart and weary mind
Here I am doubting myself
What’s right what’s wrong
What should I say or shouldn’t
Becoming a version of a person
I don’t recognize
Hanging onto a belief for the sake of sanity
A distorted view of reality befalls me
Who am I supposed to be
How does the world even work
Is the good still out there
or has evil taken over
Sucked up in the chaos
Adrift from myself
For the fright of the wickedness
In the heart of men.
Crazy times it is
When nothing seems to make sense
Who do I even listen to
Desiring to scream but I can’t
A thousand thoughts going through
With no direction but all dissonance
Losing grip on myself
Trying to grasp reality
Yet it seems all effort and
dedication goes to waste
Shall I cave in as well
Or am I already in and unaware
What’s even happening here
Stuck am I In this state of oblivion
