A Poem For My Maker
Nicholas Ilechie / / 1 min read

I've written for betrayals
And also for love
Written for Joy
And also in sorrow
But this time I write
And I write for my Maker.
One whose Glory cannot be compared to.
At his feet the world trembles
The autonomous source of power.
Whose mercy giveth life and shapeth the future
At the proclamation of His Name, Wonders befall mankind
The crust of the earth trembles at the sound of His voice
Kratos Himself with all Exousia and Dunamis.
Giver of Wealth, Wisdom, and Understanding
Like a Sun giveth light to the moon
So Your Love towers over me,
Gracious Tempest, Endless sea
Whose words never fall nor changeth.
In my times of need, you delivered me
In distress you lifted me
In pain, you gave me joy
My tears and sins you wiped away.
My peasant soul, you paid for
All at the expense of your Life.
Words aren't enough to qualify You
Riches ain't enough to repay you
What gift shall I tender?
What repayment can be made worthy?
Naught, I think…
Thence to Say "Thank You Father".
With Love,
From your lovely creature
Nicholas.
